Special armbands were designed for this ceremony on any of which was written “little assistants of Imam Mahdi (PBUH)”.

A placard was put next to main entry of the hall that the title of “little assistants of Imam Mahdi (PBUH)” was written on it. Every guest had to touch stamp with his finger and put his fingerprint under his/her name and age. Then he/she would receive an armband as a gift and through this process all guests registered their names in the army of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) and became his little assistants. In the meantime the guests were served with ice cream while being guided inside the hall.

For the respect of the guests who had presented themselves on time, a big board of the game of Snakes & Ladders was designed and installed on a part of floor of the hall for these children and these children had the right to play the game (the game was removed exactly at 16:00) and also their name was listed for participation in the contests of the ceremony and they were in priority to join. At this time childish songs about Imam Mahdi (PBUH) were played as a preparation for the main program.

 جشن2

The ceremony started by reciting the holy surate of “Towhid” by a three years old child during which the surate was translated by performers by the following rhymes:

All our actions are started                                 by the name of our dear lord

He bestow us everything we like           and his compassion shall never be diminished

Let’s all shout with one voice                                         that he is our only god

He is peerless and has no partner                  and he is the lord of our world

He has no need to any of us                       and he has no need to our efforts

The seat of our lord                                                                       is in our hearts

He has no father or mother         and he shall not be father or mother to anyone

He has no family                                                         and he is always single

And we all know full well                              that nothing is like our dear lord

Then a few narrative rhymes about Imam Mahdi (PBUH) was sung by one of the children and the audiences had to answer his rhymes with “yes” or “no” and this performance changed the mood of the ceremony:

Oh kind children!                                             Yes

My trustable little fellows!                           Yes

The hope of our land!                                    Yes

A good child should say his prayers?        Yes

Does he say his prayers with lethargy?   No (yes he should say his prayers with delight)

Do you fast?                                                       Yes

Do you fast by force?                                     No (actually you should fast just till noon)

Does our lord love you?                                Yes

Does he love the Muslims?                         Yes

Are you Muslim children?                            Yes

Are you friends with devil?                          No

Do you love the lord?                                     Yes

Do you love the Prophet (PBUH)?            Yes

Do you love your Imams?                             Yes

In the next part the titles of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) was written on a balloon shape placard with their meanings and since most of the guests could not read or write they could note the color of the balloons and the shape of any of them to find the right answer. For example: yellow balloon with the shape of star which the title of “Hujjat” was written on it should be corresponded to the yellow balloon with the shape of star which the expression of “bright guide” was written on it.

Hadi: Guided                                      Hujjat: Bright Guide                        Muntaqim: Avenger

Mansur: Assisted by god              Munji: Savior

Baqiat-u-llah: The last reserve of god

جشن5

Then a childish song of praise was performed by performers and the children were participating the song with the expression of “Mahdi the lord of this time”:

Who is the one whose arrival     shall make the world like a rosary?           Mahdi the lord of the time

Who is the one whose arrival     shall cure all the pains?                                  Mahdi the lord of the time

Who is the one whose arrival     shall perish all heathens?                            Mahdi the lord of the time

Who is the one who in his arrival shall befriend with the poor?                   Mahdi the lord of the time

Who is the one whose arrival     shall fill the world with charity and mercy? Mahdi the lord of the time

Who is the one whose arrival     shall scare the oppressors?                         Mahdi the lord of the time

Then the contest of schematic texts was performed with participation of children in which the following text was written on a placard. As you can observe, part of a text is drawn schematically, because as we mentioned before most of the participants could not read or write and it was read by children. The audience were split into two team and in this contest the more participation resulted in more rewards.

“My dear Imam Mahdi (PBUH), we are all waiting for your arrival. The earth and heaven are waiting for you. The moon and stars enter the feast of sky in the hope of seeing you. The flowers sprout for you and the trees blossom by your blessing. Our infallible Imams told us that you are like the sun behind clouds in the time of your absence. My dear Mahdi, we are praying for your appearance and we are awaiting for the day that you arrive.”

جشن6

The guests embraced the contest of “which picture for which sentence” very well; 10 different pictures were stick on a placard. Every performer read a sentence and the guests had to connect the read sentence with one of the pictures to win. The sentences were as follows:

  1. When he arrives, even the beasts won’t oppress each other.
  2. He is hidden like sun behind the clouds.
  3. When he arrives everyone shall be in happiness.
  4. Refuging to him is like entering a ship in stormy waters.
  5. He is like moon in the sky.
  6. Imam Redha (PBUH) has described Imams: Imam is like fresh water for thirst.
  7. Imam is like a spring full of water.
  8. Imam is like pond and rosary
  9. Imam is your companion and friend.
  10. Imam is like a kind father.

A small catering at this time changed the mood of the ceremony.

The contest of “melt, freeze, evaporate” and “everybody takes a gesture: like eating ice cream, putting up clothes and etc.” changed the mood of the ceremony and cheered up the guests. In the contest of “melt, freeze, evaporate” the children jumped up at the time of evaporating, lied down at the time of melting and froze at the time of freezing like a motionless statue.

The final part of the contests which was embraced warmly by participants was the lullaby of the mothers. The volunteer mothers had to whisper the following lullabies and precious rewards was granted to winners:

Lullaby, you are the assistant of Imam Mahdi (PBUH)

You will be his companion and friend.

Lullaby, he is the last Imam,

Imamate will finish after dear Mahdi.

Lullaby, and I will tell you who is Mahdi (BPUH)?

Mahdi is our only guardian.

Lullaby, in his name and in his memory.

Never forget Mahdi even for a second.

At the end the journals of Mahdiar, Melica and Narjes which are about Imam Mahdi (PBUH) and the children were presented and after praying for Imam Mahdi (PBUH) and catering and giving the rewards, the book of “from this day forward” and 8 Hadiths from Imam Mahdi (PBUH) was given to mothers as gifts. After visiting the book exhibition the ceremony concluded. We are looking forward for the day in which such ceremonies be held all over our dear Iran.
